Katsutoshi Kusume received the Bachelor of Science in Information Science from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, in 1997. After being enrolled in the graduate course in the Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, he started his study in the course of Master of Science in Communications Engineering (MSCE) at Munich University of Technology, Munich, Germany, in 1999. He has received the Master of Science in Communications Engineering from the Munich University of Technology, Munich, Germany, in 2001. He has received the Werner von Siemens Excellence Award for his master thesis in 2002. In 2009, he received the best paper award of the Signal Processing for Communications Symposium at IEEE GLOBECOM 2009. In 2002, he joined DOCOMO Communications Laboratories Europe, Munich, Germany (DOCOMO Euro-Labs) as researcher. Since 2009, he is currently senior researcher of the Wireless Technologies Research Group. He is member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). His main research interests include transmit processing techniques, multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems, iterative (turbo) processing, multiuser detections, and ad hoc networks. Recently, his research activities mainly focus on the standardization at 3GPP RAN1 meetings with an emphasis on the downlink MIMO processing for LTE-Advanced.©2009 Katsutoshi Kusume (楠目 勝利) |
